As organizations navigate the era of digital transformation, the Project Management Office (PMO) must evolve to remain relevant and strategic. Traditional PMOs primarily focused on standardizing project practices, ensuring process compliance, and maintaining portfolio visibility. However, with the advent of Intelligent Automation (IA), which integrates Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML), the PMO is now required to transition from a process-centric function to a value-driven strategic enabler. This article explores the transformative journey of the PMO in the age of IA, emphasizing new roles, competencies, governance mechanisms, and technology tools.
