Abstract

Pre-eclampsia remains a common pregnancy disorder with a high maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity. It affects 2–5% of pregnancies, and occurs most commonly at term. HELLP syndrome, which is characterized by elevated liver enzymes, and a low platelet count, is a known severe complication of preeclampsia- eclampsia.
