Corrections, Retractions & Expressions of Concern

SRC Publishers is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the scholarly record. When errors or ethical concerns arise, appropriate actions such as corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern will be taken.

1. Corrections (Errata / Corrigenda)

Corrections are issued when minor errors are identified in a published article that do not affect the overall results or conclusions of the work.

  • Errors may include typographical mistakes, author details, or minor data inaccuracies
  • A correction notice will be published and linked to the original article
  • The original article may be updated with clear indication of the correction

2. Retractions

Retractions are issued when there is clear evidence that the findings of an article are unreliable due to misconduct or honest error.

  • Data fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism
  • Duplicate publication or unethical research practices
  • Major errors that invalidate the conclusions

In such cases:

  • A retraction notice will be published and linked to the original article
  • The article will be clearly marked as “Retracted”
  • The original content may remain accessible for transparency, with clear retraction labeling

3. Expressions of Concern

An expression of concern may be issued when there are serious questions regarding the integrity or reliability of a published article, but conclusive evidence is not yet available.

  • Ongoing investigations by institutions or authors
  • Unresolved disputes regarding data or authorship

The notice will inform readers of the concerns while the matter is being investigated.

4. Investigation Process

SRC Publishers will conduct a fair and thorough investigation in collaboration with authors, reviewers, and relevant institutions when concerns are raised.

  • Authors will be given an opportunity to respond
  • Independent expert opinions may be sought
  • Decisions will be based on available evidence and ethical guidelines

5. Author and Editor Responsibilities

Authors are expected to promptly notify SRC Publishers if they discover errors in their published work.

Editors are responsible for taking appropriate action to correct or retract articles when necessary.

6. Transparency and Record Integrity

All correction, retraction, and expression of concern notices will be clearly identified, freely accessible, and linked to the original article to ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
