Abstract

Peritoneal tuberculosis occurs most commonly following reactivation of latent tuberculous foci in the peritoneum established via hematogenous spread from a primary lung focus. TB peritonitis can also occur via hematogenous spread in the setting of active pulmonary TB or miliary TB.
