Abstract

The PO in Spiti valley’s Hikkim village, said to be highest within the world, is a bridge among realms. Selfies, Instagram posts and Facebook lives have robbed journey of postcards of the vicinity. India Post is one of the biggest postal networks globally, having 155618 POs in use, out of which 90% are in rural areas, having 566000 employees, serving 7176 humans in average, overlaying an area of 21.2 km2 per PO.
