Human beings are medically easy to infect with dangerous bacteria and viruses. The risks for bacteria or viral-induced human morbidity and mortality is complex and multi-factorial. However, a long-term awareness that old people are more vulnerable to microbial infections than adultness, especially like seasonal viruses spur more recently. This phenomenon may be attributed to different risk factors of physiological, pathological and therapeutic reasons. This article outlines this string of problems and tries to find answers from different clinical evidences and biomedical logics.
