Abstract

Asthma stands as one of the most prevalent and costly health conditions in the United States. Asthma affects over 27 million people in the U.S., which translates to approximately 1 in 12 individuals [1,2]. The burden of asthma in the United States is significantly higher among individuals with low income, senior adults, and Black, Hispanic, and American Indian/Alaska Native populations, who exhibit the highest rates of asthma-related fatalities, and hospitalizations [3].
