Abstract
The periodontium is a dynamic structure composed of the tissues supporting and investing the teeth. It comprises of four principle constituents, which have been divided into two parts [1]: - Gingiva whose main function is protection of the underlying tissues - Periodontal ligament, cementum, alveolar bone, which comprises the attachment Gingiva is the part of oral mucosa that covers the alveolar processes of the jaws and surrounds the neck of the teeth [1].
