Abstract

Among the different types of biostimulators used in the global market, polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) biostimulation has been considered the most effective in truly stimulating clinically visible neocollagenesis. Many histological and clinical studies have also proven the product’s safety, in addition to its efficacy. The described technique proposes the use of 10% PMMA for the treatment of skin flaccidity caused by the aging process at different degrees. This publication suggests a standardization in five pre-determined regions that most frequently require the clinical effect of neocollagenesis and reviews the ideal anatomical plane and vascular risk zones to enhance the safety of product application. The proposed nomenclature refers to the safety of the product and the suggested protocol, supported by nearly 40 years of use in medicine.
