Call for Paper: Special Issue on Flood Tragedy 2026: Causes, Impacts, Response and Recovery

Journal of Earth and Environmental Science Research focuses on the increasing occurrence and severity of catastrophic floods, with particular emphasis on the 2026 Nepal flood tragedy and flood-related hazards across the Himalayan and other vulnerable regions. It aims to bring together multidisciplinary research examining the causes, environmental and societal impacts, emergency response, disaster risk reduction, and long-term recovery associated with extreme flood events.

The Special Issue welcomes scientific contributions investigating the interaction between climate change, extreme precipitation, glacier and snow dynamics, landslides, river systems, land-use change, infrastructure vulnerability, and human exposure. Recent research in Nepal has highlighted the importance of incorporating climate-change projections into flood-risk assessment, while studies have also demonstrated increasing concern over compound flood and landslide hazards
