Abstract

Albania, located in Southeast Europe, has undergone rapid economic and healthcare transformations in recent years. As the demand for healthcare professionals, especially nurses and midwives, continues to rise internationally, Albania faces challenges and opportunities in the healthcare sector. This presentation explores the evolving role of nurses and midwives in Albania, focusing on their contributions to maternal and child health, healthcare advancements, and the emigration trends of healthcare professionals seeking better opportunities abroad. The significance of research, professional development, and technology integration is highlighted as crucial elements to strengthen the healthcare sector in Albania and improve international collaborations in nursing and midwifery. Moreover, the role of nurses and midwives in the global healthcare landscape post-COVID-19 will be explored.
