The cardiac health status of athletes versus non-athletes has been an area of clinical interest due to the varied cardiovascular adaptations induced by physical exercise. This review aims to compare the structural, functional, and clinical cardiovascular profiles of athletes with those of sedentary individuals. Findings indicate that athletes develop physiological cardiac remodeling characterized by enlarged cardiac chambers and enhanced myocardial function, known as “athlete’s heart,” which is distinct from pathological conditions commonly observed in non-athletes. Understanding these differences is essential for accurate diagnosis and prevention of cardiovascular morbidity. This article synthesizes current research data, highlights diagnostic challenges, and suggests clinical implications [1-3].
